Importance of Biology & Its Significance in Daily Life

Importance of Biology

Biology is the science of living organisms, their structure, mechanism and all the concepts related to them. It is related to any organism, small or big, about its birth, life, behavior, growth, and multiplication. All sorts of living creatures come under the scope of biology. There are many aspects which point towards the significance of technology. Through biology, we understand how every living being survives and interacts with the environment. Biology covers the food quality, illnesses, drugs and medicines and many characteristics of the ecosystem. The study of the human body is also a part of biology. Biology is also called the study of life due to these reasons.

Human body

The scientific name of human beings is Homo sapiens. It is said that humans have evolved from apes, having a more developed body in many terms. Since we are considered the best form of animals, the human body is difficult to understand. Human body experiences numerous changes in a lifespan. Biology helps to describe the reasons for the changes and how to prevent them. The birth of a child, its growth and health issues are all answered by biology. Constant developments are being made to grasp the mysteries of the human body. Biology also explains activities like breathing, walking, eating and sleeping.

Health

Pathology is a branch of biology devoted to the study of diseases and its effect on both humans and animals. It helps in developing medications to treat the illnesses. Biology also works to find out ways to prevent serious diseases and their affordable cure. Pharmacology is a branch of biology committed to the study of medicines and their effect on human bodies. Other departments like virology ( the study of viral diseases), immunology ( the study of the immune system), etc. work together for the benefit of humans. Thanks to biology, many diseases and disorders can be cured today without much effort and money. This branch of science explains the method in which muscles and bones of our body work. Due to the progress made in biology, we now have solutions to complications like hypertension, obesity, Hepatitis C, etc. Numerous problems related to animal life have also been solved.

Exercise

Biology covers the scope of how the body works and how to make it more efficient. The exercises and sports we do have biological benefits for our body. These activities prevent fatigue, blood pressure and many other issues related to both the body and mind. Physiologists study what causes strain on the human body and how it uses oxygen during movement. Together with anatomists, physiologists discover ways of creating exercises to keep our body in the best of conditions.

Solutions to important problems

Biology has answers to many issues we are facing today. Food shortage is tackled by introducing latest methods of agriculture. Nutrition in foods has increased after the invention of hybrid fruits and vegetables. Eradication of pollution is possible with the understanding of the biology of the environment.

Careers

The study of biology gives rise to many jobs. The understanding of this science can help in becoming a nutrition expert, doctor, surgeon, neuroscientist, microbiologist, etc. The adoption of biology as a subject in schools and universities has contributed to the development of society.

Scientific discoveries

Today we have robotic limbs, which can be controlled by the brain, ready to be used at our disposal. The mapping of the human genome, creation of stem cells from mature cells, inventing penicillin which was the first antibiotic, protection from smallpox, etc. have been possible only because of the study of biology.

Conclusion

The given points mention the importance of biology right from the basic to the advanced levels. The possibilities in biology are endless, and we must keep researching for significant breakthroughs to make our life easier. In the absence of biology, we would not understand any concepts of our world.
